Final Major Project

For my Final Major Project, I'm experimenting with origami and garment construction.

My research is primarily from the "30 Years of Japanese Fashion" exhibition at the Barbican. I made a concertina book full of my drawings from the exhibition.

I created my own origami shapes, making lots of different types of flowers.

I experimented with the flower origami in fabric and sewed them all together to create one whole piece.

Using one whole piece of fabric, I experimented on a little mannequin and made some miniature toiles.

I experimented with all sorts of origami.

I developed one of my origami shapes so that it fits over the body as a top and skirt.

I've got 5 weeks left on my project and until my exhibition.
